My main issue with this pub is that it doesn't feel like a pub. It's a bit too 'office' like, a sort of early version of those pubs they now put at the bottom of large office buildings and try to make them look old. However, service is always good and the clientele in here are slightly older than across the road in The Castle.
Close your eyes and you can still smell the varnish on the floors of this recently refurbished pub. Upstairs you'll find a Thai restaurant, serving rather mediocre food but the staff were friendly and helpful. Downstairs is a bit like the food. If you are a fan of the All Bar One/Pitcher and Piano type bars then you'll probably find this a passable boozer.

I don't think much of the recent refurb, and I'm very bored of pubs serving thai food in this area. It was a reasonable pub before they tried (and failed) to make it into a bar. Can't be bothered with it now.

This pub is ok for a drink but comes accross as more of a resteraunt type of place. The food it serves is pretty good (Thai) but in pub only terms it's only average

Recently been done up but they seem to have gone for a very 90s type feel - and they really could have done with taking out the patterned carpets and kept the stone floor throughout. Food is nice - thai stuff (again - v 90s). Was better before when it was a pub rather than trying to be a bar full of travelodge armchairs - yak. Apart from that - fairly average
