Given the small footprint the Red Lion is surprisingly large, extending upwards several floors crowned with a great roof terrace. It's just far enough from Hoxton square to avoid the worst of the crowds but does have that Shoreditch down-at-heel feel with rickety furniture and oddly-coiffured locals. No food but the upper floors are available for hire. Sadly no bar upstairs either does mean a fair amount of leg-work if you're there for a session but the terrace on a sunny day more than makes up for that.
