2nd Feb 2011 - Given it has been about 5 years since my previous review, an update is way overdue, so here it is. I've been quite a few times in between now and then and not much had changed, certaily not enough to warrant a new review. However there has been a significant shift in the last few months. What was an excellent pub with a lively mix of punters (young hipsters, arty types, suits, old men) is now a good pub attracting a narrower slice of the punter spectrum. The food has gone 'gastro' and the bar billiards has been consigned to the big skip in the sky, and this seems to have removed the 'old man' element only to be replaced by more young trendy hipster types. Admittedly these people are tomorrow's old men, but the character of this pub has changed ever so slightly for the worse.

23rd Sep 2008 - I quite liked it - It's a traditional style pub in a 'trendy' area. Could have done with a couple more bar staff as we had to wait a while for the first pint but once we were settled in there was a relexed vibe to relish! The Bar Billiards table is an inspired choice by the landlord.
