Was here on a Saturday night from 6pm. Between then and 12 it went from fairly empty to completely rammed. Food was nice. If you get table service for drinks they charge you a service charge you won't get at the bar. The music seemed to be coming from a CD all night and didn't encourage people to dance, even though most were forced to stand.

Serving a wide range of bottled beer and all your favourite cocktails including quite a few house specials, The People's Republic, on the trendy bar spectrum, is up there mingling amongst your X-rays.
Only two beers on tap, Guinness and a lager (Becks Vier), make it an expensive place to be if you find yourself with any kind of significant thirst given that a pint will set you back £3.30. One tactic adopted by the bar staff to prevent your bankruptcy is for them to be particularly attentive to detail when preparing a cocktail. While this isn't a bad thing, if the person in front orders four cocktails, you might as well sit back down as you aren't getting anything for a good 20 minutes.
Saturday nights are particularly busy and the place is packed out, usually to the extent of having to queue for a while. Toilet trips have to be careully planned out as it takes a long time to get anywhere, and it's not exactly the biggest bar either.
