6th Feb 2013 - This is a trendy pub with a good selection of beers and what can only really be described as a poncey menu. Poncey as it sounded I did fancy some and will go back for the food and the beer. It had a real buzz in the more bar end photographed and there was a nice mix of people. The other side was a bit more restauranty but was not nearly as poncey as the menu. The big tall windows let in plenty of light which was impressive as the weather was pretty s**tty. Just to highlight its modern style candles in a glass and flowers were on every table. Still can't decide if the view of the Brunswick centre is a good thing or not. The holiday inn visible out of the side window is definitely not. A grand trendy pub well worth a visit.

2nd Aug 2007 - I don't care what anyone says, that IS Michael Winner on the pub sign. Pleasant, bright and airy gastro style pub with large selection of beers and nice dining room upstairs.

26th Jul 2007 - I didn't think I'd be keen on this place when I went in as it has a slight gastro-feel to it but I was pleasantly surprised. Good range of interesting fruity beers & the food menu looked nice. Light & airy but with a bit of soul...deceptively good.

20th Jul 2007 - With a sign of the Marquis that looks suspiciously like Michael winner in a garish orange, initial thoughts of this pub itself are similarly bold:- the interior looks like it has been sanded to within an inch of its life. Once you are over the shock of the decor, it is actually quite pleasant, spacious and light. The pub itself is large on two floors with a cosy upstairs bar. Selection of beers is very wide with several Belgian as well as a designated area serving coffees. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there but the Marquis is a rather nice pub.
