11th Sep 2009 - A proper Local pub serving the best of comforting British food.
Set in deepest south East London The Honor Oak offers cheering replenishment in distinctive surroundings. With a convnial atmosphere which makes you instantly feel like you’re on first name terms with the bar staff it welcomes you in like a long lost friend. Traditional features are mischievously placed alongside 80’s throw back prints featuring Barbie and My little Pony while a local signature wall and hastily written up chalk boards complete with Guardian style spelling mistakes add a nice personal vibe. The drinks choice is imaginative and eclectic but it is the food menu which impresses the most. Handmade burgers moist and seasoned to perfection are served up with tipple cooked chips and the home made fish pie is better than your Gran’s. Sunday Lunch served with towering Yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy is a must! A real hidden gem worth seeking out!

29th Dec 2007 - A very loud, modern bar, which looks like it coud be a restaurant. We sat on a dusty scarlet sofa, and couldn't really hear each other above the noise of the chart music. There seemed to be mainly groups here for dinner, not couples. They have a cocktail menu, and I would possibly return for the food, but it's too expensive for a whole night out. Children present.
