I believe I went on a date here once.. Unlike the girl, The Crown is worth another visit.

I like the Crown for its large outdoors space on clerkenwell green, for being convenient for other places, for being bohemian but not poncey, and for the choice of unusual bottled lagers - like Pacifico Clara, a light mexican summer beer that I haven't drunk since I was in - er - Mexico. I don't like that it gets v crowded and that it can take a while to get served at peak times. go in a group so you dont have to get too many rounds in.

Loads of space - both out and in, with little corners inside. Food good, with lots of flat bread options and meze platters. I agree with the comments about nice bar staff. And they do hot chocolates :-)

After undergoing a bit of an overhaul (upstairs is now full-on restaurant rather than just gastro) the Crown is a fun place to be at the moment. The staff are very friendly and the space has a lovely feel about it. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Took me a couple of visits to get over the fact they've stopped serving fish finger sandwiches but it's a great pub. Lunchtime food is good, reasonably priced drinks, big outside/seating area on the 'green' (it's more of an expanse of flagstones and road) and chirpy barstaff. Their chocolate cup thing for pudding is weird though - avoid that unless you like eating a bowl of runny cold chocolate.

This pub gets better and better. Plenty of beers on tap, and plenty more in bottles. If they haven't got one you want, simply write it on the blackboard and they attempt to get it in stock. Food is above average for a pub and service is fast and friendly.
It's your round

Good solid pub, wide range of beer, would give it a higher rating if not for the steep pricing.
